Christmas thoughts and plans

So, I'm very upset with myself for not getting the 2005 Holiday Gift List off the ground at CoffeeGeek. I could ramble off a bunch of excuses, but the bottom line is, I should have found the time.
So I'm paying for it. But in a good way.
I wrote about it in the forums at CoffeeGeek. But to recap here, I'm basically making an open offer to any company that either already has banner ads on CoffeeGeek, or were considering ones - for a $250 donation to CoffeeGeek, they get a free ad for a month. Donations of $500 or more gets two months. Lost revenue for us, heapo money for CoffeeKids.
Already, four companies have taken advantage of this - I need confirmation on three of them, but one who already made the donation via credit card is Chris Coffee, so thanks Chris!
So, at least $2,000 raised for CoffeeKids - and hopefully much more to come.
So everyone's happy! Well, not everyone. Jeanette's pissed at me because I made this decision on my own without telling her or seeking her advice (I hope it wasn't approval!). I should have talked to her about it before I did it though - she does handle all the advertising on the site, and the first she heard of it was when I sent out the partners email (to all our signed on advertisers) and forwarded it to her, along with instructions on how to handle it. Apparently, she is also celebrating Christmas this weekend instead of next, so she's got no time right now. Oh well, it's all for a good cause ;)
Because there's no HGL this year, I've been getting a lot of emails from people asking for my "holiday picks". I think I'm going to record a quick and dirty, "little editing" podcast tomorrow and do just that - give recommendations for machines and equipment in all major categories, and coffees too. Woot. Pressure's on. I may actually have to research this.
Hey, I'll be back before Christmas with a christmas message for all of you!
