Bodum Chambord Press Pot

I love press pot coffee. Well, as much as you can love a food or a beverage item. Press pots were my introduction into quality coffee in Canada, and to this day I still have tinglings of very fond memories everytime I pull out the Bodum Chambord press pot and prepare a brew.

The coffee produced by press pots is unique - Jeanette and I long ago coined the phrase "crunchy coffee" to describe it. It's not a bad term - far from it - it means it's coffee with heaps of texture and mouthfeel. The coffee does have sediment but that is part of its appeal. The coffee is thick, about as thick as a non-espresso can be. And the coffee has class and culture all on its own.
